The Love Bunch // Boise, Idaho // Surf/garage/punk/doo-wop/good times band.

Bike Thiefs // Toronto, Canada // A grammatically inept three-piece rock band.

Campfire Stories 2018: Emma Arnold and Elizabeth Gutting

Modern Hotel and Bar presents Campfire Stories | 2018 at Txikiteo Boise with host, author Christian A. Winn. We are so excited to share amazing bites, toasts, and stories around the patio campfires June through October.

This month Campfire Stories will feature local comedian sweetheart Emma Arnold and local writer Elizabeth Gutting!

ELIZABETH WORD GUTTING has an MFA in fiction writing from George Mason University. She recently relocated to Boise from Washington, DC, where she lived for over a decade, working as a waitress, farmer’s market hand, creative writing teacher, and most recently, the program director of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation. She is now the program coordinator of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Boise State University. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times and The Washington Post, and her fiction has been published by Juked and Paper Darts, among others.

EMMA ARNOLD is America's fiercest sweetheart. Equal parts outrageous and thoughtful, her standup comedy is engaging, honest, and comes from the heart. In addition to being a successful touring comedian, Emma is the cofounder and artistic director of the 208 Comedyfest, the codirector of Comedyfort (part of the Treefort Festival), as well as a mother of three and third generation beekeeper. She was named Jackie and Laurie's "Comic of the Week" in 2018, and needs literally nothing else from life after that. Her self-released comedy special, "Yes, Please", is available on her website and you should watch it, it's fun. When not touring, Emma lives in Idaho, where she keeps kids and bees with varying degrees of success.
